Chosonhwa is a form of North Korean painting. Like Hangukhwa in South Korea, it draws on traditional painting, but its techniques differ.

Where Hangukhwa emphasizes ink lines, Chosonhwa places greater emphasis on color.

Many works use the “boneless” technique, depicting forms without outlines through variations in color and ink tone.
